Sure, going downhill on a bike is fun and all, but you actually enjoy the climb, too. These light and fast MTB shorts are for you. Called the Tia Short, they’re built with wicking, quick-drying fabric that has enough stretch for high-motion sports. A casual style means you can continue wearing these shorts after the ride, too. A low-profile waistband stays in one place even when you don’t.

Form Fit Slim Regular Relaxed

Relaxed: Our most generous fit, which hangs in a flowy, roomy style that offers a relaxed comfort and total freedom of movement. This fit is free of constraints but still retains shape, structure, and clean design.

  • This is already a relaxed fit, so we advise going with the lower numeric size if you're debating between two sizes. We did tweak the fit after hearing from customers that they run small (yes, we use your reviews in the design process, thank you) so they are now a true relaxed fit bike short to accomodate knee pads and chamois liner.
  • Model in Black and Night is 5' 7" and 125 lbs with a 27" waist and is wearing a 4.
  • Model in Chai is 5' 6", 120 lbs with 26" waist and is also in a 4 because that was our sample size, but she said she'd properly wear a 2 in these.

The 2023 Tia Short Features
MTB Stretch IQ
MTB Stretch IQ has the tough textile resiliency you’ve come to rely on but with a touch more stretch for comfort and mobility. Made from a nylon-spandex blend, this is the fabric we put in pieces like our more lightweight, streamlined mountain bike shorts. It dries quickly when you sweat or pedal through rain, thanks to a PFC-Free DWR finish, and it’s got 40+ UPF for sun protection.
PFC-Free
PFCs, or perfluorocarbons, are found in chemicals often used in Durable Water Repellent (or DWR), and once released into the environment, those chemicals are no good. Instead of harmful PFCs, we’re using a friendlier, bio-based treatment that will still keep your fabric dry in a storm but is kinder to you and our planet.
Like sunscreen, not all garments are created equal when it comes to sun protection. Some fabrics still let the sun in and don’t completely block those harmful rays. This product is equipped with 40+ UPF technology to protect your skin from the sun’s powerful rays. That means this garment will keep out around 97 percent of those UVAs and UVBs. You can now soak up the sun on the trail or water and come home with summer memories instead of a sunburn.
